Missing (2023)

Missing = Searching 2.0

This one follows a mother and daughter. When the mother goes away with her boyfriend on a Colombian vacation, the daughter gets to stay home to party with her friends. BUT, when her mom doesn't return to Los Angeles at the expected time and her cell phone is unreachable, it's up to the daughter to find her. Using technology and a point of contact in Colombia, the daughter begins finding out some strange things that are happening.

Overall, this is like was stated at the beginning, Searching 2.0. It is basically the same film in its execution. Technology opens up windows into finding someone when the regular channels don't work out. In the process, things are found out. I do, however, like Searching a little bit more.

The big thing about these two films is they show how much technology really controls our lives. Between phones, the internet of things, cameras, etc., our privacy is not our own.

Yes, I'll recommend this one. If you haven't seen Searching, however, watch both films.
