Live and Let Die (1973)

The first of the Roger Moore Bond films.. With Sean Connery leaving the franchise and a subpar performance by George Lazenby, Moore had an uphill battle to restore the James Bond name. Thankfully, he pulled it off.

The story is about a drug kingpin who wants to use tons of heroin to get people addicted so he could then control the market. There is also a voodoo front going on to hide the growth and distribution. Bond must work with Felix again to stop the bar guys.

This one had a fairly recognizable cast and introduced us to Jane Seymour who turned out to be one of the most modest ones which made her even more attractive. It also stars Yaphet Lotto who was in Alien and Running Man. It also had the 7-Up guy! :)

Overall it was a good welcome got Moore. It captured some of the same feeling as the Connery films and he stepped into the role pretty easily. It is weird seeing James Bond without a carpet on his chest, arms, age legs though! HA!

I will say that the boat chase went on a WAY too long though. It was literally about twenty minutes of the film!

Yes, I'll recommend this one as a fun entry into the franchise.
