Just released on Amazon Prime, the family and I decided to check out Good Night Oppy. Glad we did as it is a solid documentary.
The story follows the creation, launch, and exploration of the Mars rovers, Spirit and Opportunity. In a mission that was expected to last for 90 days, it instead went on for 15 years.
One of the big things going for the documentary is the heart that went into it. This was both from the engineers and scientist as well as from the humanizing of the rovers.
It kept my interest the entire time and there were moments where you got to celebrate with the NASA gang and other times when you felt their tension. It's pretty amazing what they accomplished in such a short turnaround time and even more so considering the life of the mission went fast beyond specs!
Yes, I'll recommend this one.
