The Outfit (2022)

Went into this one blind. I didn't know anything about it other than it starred Mark Rylance who I usually like.

The film is a self-enclosed one set in a tailor shop in Chicago. It focuses on the meek tailor (cutter) who did his job and does it well. Some of his customers are less than moral, however, and belong to a 1950s mob gang. The story focuses on the events in the shop over the course of a day and night.

I liked it. It's did a good job building the anticipation about what was going to happen next. It wasn't an 'in your face' violent film but instead it kept building and building to a solid apex.

I almost had a complaint about the last five minutes but it worked out.

Mark Rylance did an excellent job as the tailor. His demeanor and calmness added to the mystery of his character. The viewer is left to put the puzzle pieces together and as it comes together there is more and more of a sense of satisfaction for how it plays out.

Yes, I'll recommend this one without any hesitation.
