This one continues the lack of any storyline at all. Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong are in this one and they said, we've got a great cosplay costume designer for these two so let's stick them in the film. Wait, we need a purpose for them? Let's just have them shoot things and look like the characters from the video games, that's enough, right?
The story, what there is of it, is that Alice is in a somewhat virtual representation of Suburbia, Russia, and Times Square. Why? Um, yeah. At least Times Square explains something as it was made for marketing Reebok, Carfax, GameStop, and a couple of more companies. Honestly, the story just doesn't matter in the big picture which is good because if it did, I would rate this movie a half-star. Instead, it's just Jovovich blowing things up and a return of several characters from the previous movies because, why? Um, yeah.
I really don't have much more to say about it. This and the one before this are so scarce for any connection to reality that they are hard to judge. Apparently there are now Russian gun-toting zombies, a really big Licker, some injection that makes you invincible, and...things... Who needs to explain and of these or the introduction of Leon Kennedy and Ada Wong? Or the return of previous characters.
P.S. They brought back the WORST actor from the first film and she's just as bad now.
There is no need to state spoilers as none of it really matters. If you are in it for the action and gunplay, Paul W.S. Anderson has a good flair for action. If you're in it for anything else, expect your brain to melt.
I'll recommend it, once again, but only if you're running through the franchise like me. One more live-action and then to the CGI ones (which I know are good). Oh, and I got my Playstation 5 controller back a few minutes ago so it's back to playing Resident Evil 0!
