Space Force Series Review

Since there was news this week that the series was cancelled, Lisa and I finished up our last couple of episodes. However, it's not one of those 'oh no, it's been cancelled too soon' series.

Let by Steve Carell and John Malkovich, the story is about the newly formed Space Force. It is a satire of the creation of this organization. It was co-written by Greg Daniels of The Office (US) fame.

With Carell and Malkovich as the main actors and Daniels as the main writer, you'd expect it to be brilliant. It does have a range of quirky characters like Jimmy O. Yang from Silicon Valley, and plenty more, but the chemistry on the show just never quite made it.

It's not to say it wasn't entertaining but it was more of a show that we just watched more out of habit than dedicating ourselves to it. There were some funny parts here and there but sometimes I felt that my laughs were a bit forced. It felt disjointed. The flow was just 'off'.

We've seen both seasons, which are now all of them, but we did kinda push ourselves to watch the second season as the first didn't give us the warm fuzzies.

I'll say this series, while it should have a lot going for it, is one I'll just suggest skipping, especially since Netflix doomed it.
