Jodorowsky's Dune (2013)

Today's movie of the day = Jodorowsky 's Dune. It's a documentary about the biggest movie never to be made.

This was an interesting documentary. It was for a large scale science fiction film back before that was really a thing. Yes, 2001: A Space Odyssey proceeded it but Star Wars was yet to be made.

This is a telling of the story of surrealist director Jodorowsky's journey to make his vision of a revolutionary film that would blow the minds of its viewers. Among the way his enthusiasm and excitement for the project showed.

Alas, it was never meant to be made. It was far ahead of its time. I won't spoil why it wasn't made but it's obvious it wasn't so I am not really spoiling it. In his journey he got some huge names involved in the project. Again, no spoilers but he got bands, famous actors, musicians, and more on board and was 'this close' to starting production.

It was an interesting documentary. It wasn't the best I've seen but it was good enough to keep me connected to the story and wonder where it was going.

I'll recommend it but it's more for fans of Frank Herbert and Dune to see than a casual viewer.

P.S. I think Jodorowsky had a bit of a God complex.
