Copshop (2021)

Today's movie of the day = Copshop. This has been one of my films I've been curious about as it got decent reviews. It stars Gerard Butler (and he is one producer) and a couple of other actors I didn't recognize.

It centers on really three main characters. A 'fixer', a hired gun, and a police officer. It takes place almost exclusively in a remote police station in Nevada. The big thing is, there is a price on the fixer's head so he's got to survive.

I enjoyed it. It wasn't one that I'll have to rewatch a bunch of times but it was enjoyable for what it was. It felt like a Soderburgh film written by a less humorous Elmore Leonard. The characters combined with the setting and the music gave it this feel. The story unravels as it goes so it has about half of the film where you don't really know what's going on.

Overall I'd recommend it for a decent action film. It's slightly above average, IMHO.

P.S. I hated one thing about the last scene. It was plain stupid.
