The Mummy (1932)

Today's movie of the day = The Mummy (1932). While I'm enjoying this run of classic horror films they also get a bit repetitive. There are parts now that are so predictable in the storytelling mode that it feels like the others. That being said, The Mummy was still entertaining. He doesn't actually seem like a bad guy as his main motivation is love and the only people that really get hurt are those who, either purposefully or accidentally, get in his way. It was fun seeing Boris Karloff in this role and, once again, we get two other repeat actors from Dracula and Frankenstein, each in different roles. The makeup on The Mummy is solid, especially for the time. I do wonder, however, why no one questions the Mummy in dress robes as he is pretty scaly and someone might have suggested a dermatologist. As with the others, yes, I recommend it. While the story is repetitive, following the rulebook of the other films, it is still a fun one.
