Goldeneye (1995)

First in the Pierce Brosnan series of four James Bond films. I remember this one quite well from back in the day.

The story follows 007 as he tracks down the bad guy. In this case the bad guy is using the Goldeneye system to hold the world ransom or face their cities being fried by an overly powerful EMP blast.

There is also a twist about halfway through.

This is the first Bond film with Dame Judy Dench as M. It also has a new Moneypenny. Thankfully it's the same old Q but he only has one more from before he died IRL.

Brosnan came in strong and brought his own flair to the role. He also brought the dad jokes back. While not quite as suave as Connery or Moore, he is still a hit with the ladies. That and it would be a battle to see if Connery or Brosnan have a harrier chest.

This one has some of the best action sequences to date. From the opening on the dam to 'borrowing' the tank, it is pretty action packed. It made sense to make it into one of the most popular Nintendo 64 games of all-time.

Overall it's a solid entry into the franchise and a good introduction for Brosnan.

Yes, I'll recommend it.
